The AWIPEV team was measuring the active layer thickness in the T-MOSAiC transect in the end of June 2022 at the Bayelva research site near Ny-Ålesund on Svalbard.
Their transect (10 m) was set up in March 2021 and measurements are conducted following our standardized permafrost thaw monitoring protocol ( https://cdnsciencepub.com/doi/10.1139/as-2021-0007). The active layer thickness at Bayelva in June was already up to 1.30 m as shown in the figure below.
